A word from the Lord

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ - who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing in His kingdom - Preach the Word... Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, reprove, rebuke, exhort with patience and doctrine.

For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine, but they shall gather unto themselves teachers who will tickle their ears. And the truth of God will be turned into mythology.

But you, oh man of God, make full proof of your ministry, do the work of an evangelist. Put on the whole armor of God, and stand against the methods of the devil. He that has ears to hear, hear the Word of the Lord. -Amen...

A famous atheist demonstrates a bit of common sense...

While I have been saddened by some of the comments Mr Gillette has made regarding Christianity in the past, it seems that he has a bit of understanding after all...

One more reason to continue to pray for the salvation of his soul - that God might open his eyes and ears to His truth...

Refuting popular ideas with righteousness

Recently, a college acquaintance of mine found me on Facebook. When I write "recently" that is to say, the day before election day. Now, being a "tolerant" Christian, I'm able to be friends with people NO MATTER WHO they choose to vote for...

Please understand though, that if they choose to vote for someone who would approve of legislation that would allow the indiscriminate murder of pre-born human beings, we probably won't be BFFs, and that's why I previously characterized him as an "acquaintance."

With that said, I'll now bring you up to speed. On election day, the people of California overwhelmingly amended the state constitution by way of Proposition 8. And now there is a movement to subvert the will of the people - AGAIN... Note that in 2000, 61% of Californians voted to establish a definition of marriage that is not long, drawn out and politicized - but rather, simple, easy to understand, fair and only 14 words long...

The entire text of Proposition 8 (the same text as Proposition 22 in 2000) is as follows:

"Only marriage between a man and a woman
is valid and recognized in California."

Earlier this week, my friend joined a "group" on Facebook that is organized to "get one million people to overturn prop 8" which caught my eye, and raised the point that he is from Wisconsin, why would HE care? He didn't respond... no matter, I'll write it off as a rhetorical statement... However, I went on to write...

"...it took a million just to get the prop on the ballot - half a million MORE Californians voted to pass it than voted to bring it down... The bottom line is this - no one's rights have been taken away - men still have the right to marry women - that right has not been taken away, and women still have the right to marry men... The will of the people is what has been taken away when activist judges change the law arbitrarily..."

Once again, my comment went without response - fair enough - I'm willing to scream into a vacuum as long as there is someone with a conscience and ears that work or eyes that can see somewhere in the vicinity that might recognize truth when they hear/see it...

Today, he updated his status... And whether or not it was left-handedly pointed at my comment from the other day the other day - I could not let what he quoted go without pointing toward God's perspective... I'm nowhere NEAR where John the Baptist was in his day, but in the same spirit that he pointed out the sins of those who were in his vicinity... I humbly submit the following:

------------------

My friend's quote...
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr. Seuss.

My reply...
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!" - Isaiah 5:20

"Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it."
- Psalm 34:14.

"who you are" is a sinner in need of a Savior... and "what you feel" is rooted in a heart that is deceitfully wicked...

Just a thought from someone who doesn't matter...

------------------

Now, I do not write these things in order to be contrarian (regardless of whether or not I AM a contrarian, that is not my motivation) - and I am in no way legalistic in my faith practices... Well, no more than Paul was - and again, as with John above, I am not comparing myself to Paul, rather I am pointing out that Paul is where I get my justification to stand against these issues - and the Word of God is where I get my mandate...

On the contrary (hehehe) I write these things, in order to stand for what is right, when so many are not willing to stand - in order to call evil, "evil" rather than to allow society to slide into hell without any opposition.
Jude 17-23.

Did I mention that I met my friend while in Bible College? Back when I was a false convert - back when I would have fought for Gay Rights and a woman's right to choose what she thinks is best for "her body."

I do not believe that I'll be able to atone for the sins of my time as a false convert - fortunately, Christ has done that for me on the cross - however, I cannot stand by while others who profess faith in Christ promote discrimination, hatred and intolerance while they accuse me of the same...

I've already lost one Facebook friend over this, and I anticipate at least one or two more - though, I've NEVER been popular, and woe to me when the whole world loves me... John 15:18-19, James 4:4

Is "Repentance" Necessary for Salvation?

It is true that numerous Bible verses speak of the promise of salvation with no mention of repentance. These verses merely say to "believe" on Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9). However, the Bible makes it clear that God is holy and man is sinful, and that sin makes a separation between the two (Isaiah 59:1-2). Without repentance from sin, wicked men cannot have fellowship with a holy God. We are dead in our trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1) and until we forsake them through repentance, we cannot be made alive in Christ. The Scriptures speak of "repentance unto life" (Acts 11:18). We turn from sin to the Savior. This is why Paul preached "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21).

The first public word Jesus preached was "repent" (Matthew 4:17). John the Baptist began his ministry the same way (Matthew 3:2). Jesus told His hearers that without repentance, they would perish (Luke 13:3).

If belief is all that is necessary for salvation, then the logical conclusion is that one need never repent. However, the Bible tells us that a false convert "believes" and yet is not saved (Luke 8:13); he remains a "worker of iniquity." Look at the warning of Scripture: "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth" (1 John 1:6). The Scriptures also say, "He that covers his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesses and forsakes them [repentance] shall have mercy" (Proverbs 28:13). Jesus said that there was joy in heaven over one sinner who "repents" (Luke 15:10). If there is no repentance, there is no joy because there is no salvation.

When Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost, he commanded his hearers to repent "for the remission of sins" (Acts 2:38). Without repentance, there is no remission of sins; we are still under His wrath. Peter further said, "Repent . . . and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out" (Acts 3:19). We cannot be "converted" unless we repent. God Himself "commands all men everywhere [leaving no exceptions] to repent" (Acts 17:30). Peter said a similar thing at Pentecost: "Repent, and be baptized every one of you" (Acts 2:38).

If repentance wasn’t necessary for salvation, why then did Jesus command that repentance be preached to all nations (Luke 24:47)? With so many Scriptures speaking of the necessity of repentance for salvation, one can only suspect that those who preach salvation without repentance are strangers to repentance themselves, and thus strangers to true conversion.

Doesn't the Bible Say...

Has anyone ever told you that you shouldn't judge others?

Have they even gone so far as to quote scripture telling you that you should "judge not, lest ye be judged..."?

Apart from quoting John 7, what do you do?  How do you respond?

Well, if you've ever wanted a good resource, again, apart from scripture, though pointing DIRECTLY AT God's Word - then here it is from Pastor Bob DeWaay.

If you know me, you are obviously aware of how much I value the internet when it comes to the overabundance of resources available for the teaching, training and instructing us (the saints) in the Word of God.  And that is why I'm pointing you toward his Radio Podcasts.

Enjoy and be blessed - if you pay attention, you might just learn something...

Repentance - The Ultimate Message of Love

- by Chris Rosebrough

Originally posted on the website A Little Leaven

Relavant Christian, a blog dedicated to ‘staying current with today’s culture, has a post entitled ‘Why Christian’s Suck’ written by Timmy Gibson that rails against pharisaical Christians who violate John 8.

According to Timmy, John Chapter 8, the story of the woman caught in adultery is a passage of scripture that teaches us that we are not to judge non-believers to a ‘fiery hell’ because Jesus didn’t judge the woman caught in adultery to a ‘fiery hell’. According to Timmy ‘faith works by love’ and ‘love leads people to faith’. But in Timmy’s way a thinking preaching a message of repentance of sins to non-believers violates the message of ‘love’ and those who do so are ‘sucky Christians’.

After reading his post I thought that Timmy’s reasoning contradicted scripture, especially as it relates to Paul’s preaching of the gospel. So I decided to ask him to clarify his position. I asked Timmy:

Do you think that the Apostle Paul is someone who you would label as a sucky Christian?

He told people they were sinners, preached Christ Crucified everywhere he went and every opportunity that he had. He openly rebuked other ‘christians’ who disagreed with the gospel that he taught, (See the entire book of Galatians and Acts 15).

He preached in the streets, in the synagogues, on Mars Hill. Got people so upset and riled up that they stoned him, rioted or both. They thought that he was such a dangerous nut job that they followed him from town to town trying to stir up trouble against him.

So if Paul were alive today, doing what he normally does what would you say about him?

Timmy’s response was astonishingly uniformed when it comes to the scriptures and this post is a response to Timmy and those who think like him. Here was Timmy’s response:

I think the time we are living in now is a bit different then in the times of Paul. I am thinking that those things were important in establishing the church - then. I think with each generation and in each culture you use different tools to effectively (this is a key word) reach people for Christ! I am for anything that works! I am not too convinced that street preaching is effective these days! Though I will tell you that we’ve done some creative “street” preaching of sorts even recently and it proved to be a positive experience… though we did not use a megaphone and soap box!

Oh believe me I am all for stirring people up… especially if it causes growth, change and reflection… and ultimately a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ.

One thing to always keep in mind Chris, we (as Christians) are to be LIKE JESUS, not Paul! (emphasis mine)

Two things struck me about Timmy’s reasoning. The first is his assumption that preaching a message of repentance and the consequences of non-repentance is an unloving message. The second is the false belief that Paul’s message and the means he employed for spreading the gospel are different than Jesus’.

This post will address both of these issues by looking at what scripture says on the matter.

I will demonstrate four primary concepts from scripture. They are:

1. The New Testament gospels clearly show us that the core of Jesus’ message was a call to ‘Repentance’.
2. Jesus instructed his disciples to preach and teach this exact same message of Repentance.
3. The disciples obeyed Jesus in regard to preaching this message, including the Apostle Paul.
4. Jesus has instructed the Church to Preach the Message of Repentance to all nations, including 21st century America.

First. It is a false and Biblicically incorrect notion to say that telling unbelievers that they are sinners that need to repent is angry, hateful, judgmental or contrary to a message of love.

Instead, faithfully proclaiming the message of repentance is the very epitome of what it means to “love your neighbor”.

How do we know this?

Answer: Because Jesus, who is love incarnate, preached a message of repentance everywhere that he went and his disciples followed His example. Please consider these passages of scripture.

Matthew 4:17 - “From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

This verse tells us that Jesus’ standard message from the time of John the Baptist’s arrest was a message of repentance. Therefore, unless one is willing to argue that Jesus was calling for people to repent of something other than their sins, Timmy’s argument already contradicts God's word.

This also means the tax collectors and prostitutes that Jesus 'hung out with' first heard Jesus' message of repentance.

Furthermore, unless one is willing to say that Jesus was unloving and uncaring when he told people to repent of their sins then Timmy’s argument is not based upon the full council of scripture.

So that you do not think I am engaging in sophistry I will provide more passages that bear this fact out.

In Mark 1 we see a cross-reference to Matthew 4:17 that confirms that the message Jesus preached to everyone called for repentance and belief.

Mark 1:14-15: “Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Not only did Jesus' message call for people to repent of their sins, Jesus actually reproached and called down judgement on those who would not repent. This is an important fact because Timmy tries to argue that John 8 should form the basis of Christian evangelism. But, Timmy’s argument falls flat because he’s ignored those passages of scripture where Jesus acts contrary to John 8. Matthew 11:20 is a prime example. In this passage we find out that Jesus reproached the inhabitants of cities that did not repent.

Matthew 11:20: “Then He began to reproach the cities in which most of His miracles were done, because they did not repent.

Furthermore, in Luke 13 Jesus told his listeners in no uncertain terms that they were sinners and that unless they repented they would perish.

Luke 13:1-3, 5: There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And he answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

5 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

These passages clearly and directly contradict Timmy’s argument about John 8.

In point of fact, if we are to truly follow Jesus example of evangelism and His treatment of un-believers then we need to look at more than just John 8. We must also look at those passages where Jesus clearly calls people to repent and threatens punishment to those who refuse.

The next fact to consider is that the disciples followed Jesus’ example and His instructions regarding the message that they were to proclaim and take to the ends of the earth. Their message, just like Jesus’ was a message of repentance.

Mark 6:7 And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 8 He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in their belts— 9 but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics.* 10 And he said to them, “Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you depart from there. 11 And if any place will not receive you and they will not listen to you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them.” 12 So they went out and proclaimed that people should repent.

From this passage we can also say with certainty that, it is an untenable position to argue that the message of repentance is either unloving, unkind, or hateful because the disciples were preaching the EXACT SAME message that Jesus’ preached.

We also have a blistering example of the Apostle Peter holding his audience responsible for murdering Jesus in the sermon he preached at Pentecost.

Acts 2:22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23 this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.

Acts 2:36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

If we were to believe Timmy and those like him, we’d have to conclude that Peter was a ‘sucky Christian’ and that he was being unloving, harsh, judgmental and contradicted the example of John 8. But if we believe the scriptures we have to believe that this was not only an act of love but that his words were prompted and empowered by the Holy Spirit. As a result of this powerful and blistering message, Peter’s audience was literally convicted of their sin and unbelief. Here is what the next verse in this passage says:

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Peter’s audience felt horrible. They were convicted and mortified of their sins.

Who convicted them?

Answer: The Holy Spirit. That means the Holy Spirit was the one who inspired Peter to say those blistering words and the Holy Spirit used those words to convict Peter's audience of their sins.

We shouldn’t be surprised by this because this is EXACTLY what Jesus said the primary job of the Holy Spirit is in John 16. Here is what Jesus said:

John 16:8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me

In Acts 2 we see the fulfillment of Jesus’ words regarding the Holy Spirit. Far too many people get caught up by the fact that the Apostles were speaking in tongues when the Holy Spirit came upon them that they overlook the fact that the Holy Spirit was also actively convicting people of their sin and unbelief. This was just as much a miracle as the gift of tongues.

What was Peter’s response to those people who had been convicted of their sins by the Holy Spirit? Read for yourself:

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins...

Peter’s answer was the same as Jesus’. Once again we see a clear call to repentance.

Now it is time to dispel this false notion that Paul was not following the example and message of Jesus. As if Paul was some type of loose canon or renegade Christian who acted contrary to what Jesus would have done. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Here was the message that the Apostle Paul brought to the meeting of the Areopagus on Mars Hill.

Acts 17:29 Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. 30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”

Paul was in Athens and his audience was 100% pagan and he brought them a message of repentance from the sin of idolatry. The message of repentance was a core component of Paul’s gospel presentation. But, where did Paul learn to preach like this?

Answer: Paul received his ‘gospel message’ directly from Jesus Christ.

Gal. 1:11 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel.* 12 For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

Scripture even records for us the EXACT words that Jesus spoke to Paul upon his conversion. These words also confirm the message of repentance . Here is what Jesus told Paul.

Acts 26: 19 I am sending you 18 to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

If Timmy is correct and Paul acted in a way that was contrary to Jesus’ example and his message was different than Jesus’ then we’d expect that Jesus or the other Apostles would have rebuked or corrected Paul. Instead, we have clear passages of scripture that tell us that Jesus not only approved of what Paul was preaching and doing, but that Jesus didn’t want Paul to stop.

Acts: 18:9 And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.”

Paul never did stop. He was NEVER silent. He was even bold enough to proclaim the message of repentance to governors and kings.

Acts 26:19 “Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, 20 but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance.

Scripture clearly shows us that the message of repentance from sins is not an optional part of the proclamation of the Gospel. Instead it is a core, non-optional component of the Christian message.

In fact, the Christian church is under direct orders from Jesus Christ to preach the message of repentance and the forgiveness of sins to all nations.

Luke 24:45 Then he (Jesus) opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.

Notice the Jesus commands that the message of repentance be preached to ALL NATIONS this includes early 21st Century America.

Repentance was Jesus’ message. This was the message He taught his disciples to preach. This was the message that the Apostles proclaimed. This is the message that we are bound to.

The only ‘sucky Christian’ is the one who refuses to obey his Lord and preach the message that Jesus has commanded the church to preach.

Questions, questions, questions...

What's going to happen when I die?

Invariably, whenever I am involved in a conversation with someone where important issues are brought up, the dialogue steers toward eternity... Whether there's a heaven or a hell the way the Bible says there is - and ultimately, the question of whether they believe they are good enough to get into heaven...

The Bible says a couple of things that are worth noting in order to begin to answer "the big question." First off, we are told that, "...it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment..." (Hebrews 9:27) So, according to God, and His Word, reincarnation is out... We also see that, "...the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) If the wages of a day of work is a paycheck, then the answer to the question "why do we die" becomes an easy one... We die because we've sinned...

Perhaps now you're asking yourself the question, "well, I've heard the word 'sin' used a million times, mostly flipped about by televangelists and those weirdos yelling on street corners, but what IS sin?" Well, once again, the Bible gives us the answer... "sin is lawlessness." (1 John 3:4) And the law the Bible is referring to is God's Law, the Ten Commandments.

Now, if you're honest with yourself, you'll have to admit, as I have, that you've lied, stolen, and used God or Jesus' name as a swear word, or in a fashion unbecoming of your Creator - but do you realize that Jesus said that if you hate your brother, or even call someone a fool, that you're in danger of being condemned to hell? (Matthew 5:22)

And most people think that the command "thou shalt not commit adultery" (Exodus 20:14) refers only to people who are married meaning that they're not supposed to have an extra-marital affair - but check out what Jesus said... (Matthew 5:27-28) You see, God is not merely concerned with what we do with our hands or our mouth, in fact, the Bible says that God requires truth in our inward parts... (Psalms 51:6) In the Day of Judgment, God is going to look at our hearts and our minds, and without holiness, and righteousness written thereon, He will turn His back on us as though He never knew us... (Matthew 7:23)

But that's not the end of the story - in fact, there IS Good News! You've been told before that "there's 'good news' and there's 'bad news'" and then you've been asked which you'd like first... And, like most everyone, you most likely requested the bad news first - well that was it... You, like me, are a sinner in need of a Savior - like a criminal walking into a court of law, you have a fine to pay, and believe me, you cannot afford to pay it.

Then what's this "Good News" already? You're asking, and here it is... 2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ, God Himself came to Earth in the form of a man - the Bible says that he "became flesh" (John 1:14) and lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:25) a performed many miracles and wonders to establish His deity. Over 700 years before Jesus' birth, the Prophet Isaiah wrote about what He would go through for those who would believe in Him...

"...There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by. He was despised, and we did not care.
Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God for his own sins! But he was wounded and crushed for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was whipped, and we were healed! All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the guilt and sins of us all.
He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. From prison and trial they led him away to his death. But who among the people realized that he was dying for their sins—that he was suffering their punishment? He had done no wrong, and he never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man's grave.
But it was the LORD's good plan to crush him and fill him with grief..."             Isaiah 53:2-10

So you can see, perhaps for the first time, that Jesus went to the cross, to bear the punishment (pay the fine, if you will) for the sins you committed against God. The Bible says that God showed His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, He sent Christ to die for us. (Romans 5:8) God knew you were going to break His laws, and His judgment, as powerful as it is, cannot be appeased by our own 'good works.' We need to have a 'fine payer' a representative in that heavenly courtroom. And that is what Christ has done for us - He stepped forward and offered Himself up as a ransom (1 Timothy 2:6) for those who would believe.

You've read or heard no doubt that "God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) Please note that "He gave His only Son" for those "who believe[s] in Him" and not for the WHOLE world... Therefore, everyone is not going to heaven - remember up above? The soul that sins, it shall die... (Ezekiel 18:20)

So how do we get this "eternal life"? Do we just "believe" and poof, we're Christians bound for heaven when we die? Well, it would be fun if it were that easy - a LOT more people would be bound for glory, and a lot fewer headed for hell. Jesus' first words of public ministry were "Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand!" (Matthew 4:17)

Now, a lot of people claim that they are "OK" with God - they grew up in church, maybe they were even baptized at some point - but the question is, "is God 'OK' with you?" If you were to drop dead right now, before even reaching the end of this writing, and the next thing you know, you're on your knees before The One who made you - would He be 'OK' with you, or say He never knew you?

Have you repented (realized your sins against the Creator God - and turned away from them) forsaking your sins, and turned toward Christ in faith for the forgiveness of your sins? I put it that way because many people believe that because they haven't killed anyone, or because they go to church, or give money to charities, that their good will outweigh their bad (Ephesians 2:8-9) they are therefore, trusting in their own goodness, and not Christ's sacrifice to make the payment I referred to above...

If you've never done that - repented of your sins, and put your faith in Christ, I want to encourage you to do that right now, right where you are... Contrary to what many people might tell you, it is a GOOD thing to question your faith if you're not 100% sure that you'd go to Heaven if God were to take you right now... (2 Corinthians 13:5) You cannot do anything to save yourself, Christ has already done everything necessary - and He calls you to repent of your sins and trust in Him alone.

The Bible says that when you cry out to Him for mercy, He will save you - you will begin to hunger and thirst for righteousness, and He will fill you with it... (Matthew 5:6) Whereas you once loved the darkness and hated the light, He will cause you to step out into the light and shun the darkness... (Isaiah 5:20)

If you believe that God is preparing your heart, then do not let another day go by without making your calling and election sure. (2 Peter 1:10) For today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2) and even if its not your last day, it is undoubtedly the most important.

May God Richly Bless the prayers of your heart - I hope to see you heaven one day.

Sincerely,

-Benjamin
